Getting out the BBQ and inviting people over for a party is a summer tradition here in the UK.
Having something comfortable for guests to sit on, such as Outback reclining chairs, will make your garden more appealing – but you also need to provide some tasty food! Here are three recipe ideas that are simple but delicious.
Chicken souvlaki
You can make these spicy kebabs by marinating chicken with some olive oil, sweet paprika, oregano, mint, cinnamon and cumin, as well as a little black pepper and salt.
Create pitta bread wraps by mixing salt, sugar, yeast and flour in a bowl, before adding olive oil and water and kneading the dough. Grill the bread in a frying pan and cook the chicken on the BBQ at its highest setting.
Courgettes, ricotta and runner beans
For a great side dish, heat mixed seeds in a dry saucepan until they pop, before mixing in sea salt, chilli flakes and honey. Put the formed clusters out to cool on a baking tray before adding seasoning and lemon zest.
Next, season the runner beans and courgettes in olive oil and char them at a high heat on your BBQ. Layer the runner beans and courgettes onto the ricotta to serve.
S’mores
These make brilliant sweet treats for young (and old!) guests.
Place rich tea biscuits on foil strips, and lay marshmallows and chocolate on each. Place a second biscuit on top, and wrap the sandwich in foil before cooking both sides on the BBQ for around four minutes.
Hopefully these recipes will give you some inspiration of how to make the most out of your BBQ this summer!
