Hanging baskets are great because not only can they brighten up your patio area either side of your Charles Taylor garden furniture, they can also be brought to the front of the house to decorate your porch or front door. They’re great for adding curb appeal as they’re very eye-catching, and are also harder for pests to get at. The following are just a handful of some of the best plants for hanging baskets.
Fuchsias
Fuchsias are bright and exotic, so they can be arranged in hanging baskets to add a spark of colour in your garden. They also come in many different shades of pink, white, red and purple, so you can tailor them to your garden colour scheme.
Petunias
Traditional favourites, petunias are popular for hanging baskets because they will stay in bloom all summer long. You can start planting them in the late spring to get the best out of them as they won’t cope with any frost.
Pansies
Pansies will look pretty hanging over the edge of your baskets and they also come in many different colours. Be sure to give them a bit of shade though, as too much sun can affect them.
Strawberries
Not the traditional pick for hanging baskets, but strawberries can have the same effect as flowers tumbling out of your basket. They need full exposure to the sun, so would be great for the back garden, and growing them out of reach of most garden pests can be very useful.
