Your lawn can take a bit of a beating during the summer – especially if you have children. All that outdoor play and hot, dry weather can leave lawns looking patchy and faded.
Here are some ways for you to get your lawn looking lush and green again.
Weed out the weeds
Weeds really come to life in summer, and they will quickly take over a dry or patchy lawn. The first step in making your garden leaner, meaner and greener is to deal with them. A combination of removing them by hand and using a good weed killer will do the trick.
Prepare to scarify
If your lawn has a lot of thatch on it – say, over half an inch – it can be a good idea to scarify it. Too much thatch will stop moisture and oxygen getting to the roots of the lawn. You can remove thatch from it using a standard garden rake.
You must mulch
The next step in getting a lush green lawn to gaze at from your Lifestyle garden furniture is to feed the soil with mulch. You can use grass clippings to create the mulch, which will gradually seep its nutrients into the soil.
Mow to see it grow
Mowing your lawn on a frequent basis is good for its growth and can help to restore colour and life. Make sure you only remove one third of its height when mowing though, so you do not cause grass stress.
A lovely green garden lawn is within your grasp if you follow these pointers.
