Garden Lime 3.5kg

Garden Lime makes soils less acidic, enabling plants to take up the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development. If soils become too acidic nutrients get locked away, plants can suffer deficiencies and feeding becomes less effective. Garden Lime is also a valuable source of calcium.

How to Use

When to Use

Can be applied throughout the year, but for best results use in autumn before first frosts. For normal soils, use every third year. Highly acidic soil may need an annual application.

How to Use

One handful of Garden Lime is about 35g (11/4 oz).

Trees and Shrubs

Apply 10g/sq. m (1/3 oz per sq. yd) around the base of established plants. Gently fork into the soil surface without disturbing the roots. Alternatively, sprinkle the product over the soil surface, around the stem of the plant and water in well. When planting
out apply 10g/sq. m (1/3 oz/sq. yd) to the bottom of the planting hole and mix well with the soil or compost when refilling the hole.

Beds & Borders

Apply 10g/sq. m (1/3 oz per sq. yd) on the soil surface and fork in. Take care that the granules do not touch the plant leaves or stems. Water in well after application.

Vegetables

Apply 10g/sq. m (1/3 oz/sq. yd) and work well into the soil.

Improving Soil

Apply 10g/sq. m (1/3 oz/sq. yd) on the soil surface and fork in well. For clay soils, increase to 15g/sq. m (1/2 oz/sq. yd) to improve structure and drainage.

Lawns

Apply 10g/sq. m (1/3 oz/sq. yd) to the grass surface. Garden Lime will improve nitrogen uptake and will help produce a greener lawn.
