Which type of gardening is best for you?

Gardening is said to be great for your mental health as well as your physical health. As the weather starts to get warmer, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about getting out there, no matter if you’re a beginner or a regular gardener. It’s also good to start thinking about the type of gardening you want to undertake this year; this guide will help you choose.

Raised garden beds

Raised beds give you a lot of control over the type of soil used for your plants and where to grow them. These beds are generally made out of wood. An important benefit for those with mobility issues, raised beds give you increased control over the accessibility of your crops so you can build them at a height convenient for you.

In-ground gardening

This is probably the most common method of gardening and is especially great for beginners as you can start digging and planting straight away without any setting up or special beds or containers. The main benefit of this type of gardening is that your plants have access to water from the soil and ground, so will need watering less often.

Container gardening

Container gardening is great if you have limited space or need to move your plants around a lot. The most common containers to grow your plants are ceramic or plastic – just make sure they have enough holes for draining water.

Do your research

Whatever type of gardening you choose, do your research first so that you can build a garden you can enjoy from your outback reclining chairs.
