If you’re a garden lover who has the perfect garden setup, complete with Lifestyle garden furniture, you might like to bird watch now and again. Birds are more likely to visit your garden if it’s friendlier to them, which means providing them easy access to food. Read on to find out more about the types of bird feed you can get and what types of birds might enjoy them.
Seed mixes
Seed mixes are one of the most common types of bird feed; many different birds simply enjoy picking at them. They’re also easy to place in bird feeders or tables. Just make sure you pick a seed mix with a variety of seeds such as; sunflower seeds, which are a favourite of blackbirds; millet, which sparrows love; or peanut granules, which both tits and blackbirds enjoy.
Peanuts
Peanuts are high in protein and finches, tits and sparrows love to attack whole peanuts when placed in bird feeders. Robins will go for peanuts that are crushed, and other birds may be attracted if they’re sprinkled on the ground. Just make sure you buy peanuts that are friendly to our feathered visitors.
Fat balls
Fat balls are great for providing birds energy, especially when it gets a little colder. Make sure you buy bird-friendly ones, as you should never put fat out from your cooking as it can get stuck to their feathers and encourage bacteria.
