Christmas Day will soon be here, so hopefully you’ve got all your Christmas decorations up, all your presents are all wrapped, and your Christmas dinner is organised. However, once it’s time to pack everything away, including new gifts and other items, it can be easy to do it as quickly as possible without organisation. If you take some care and time in clearing up after Christmas, it can save you a lot of time next year.
Don’t put it off
Once Christmas is over and you have some free time, take your Christmas decorations down and get cleared up. If you keep putting it off, it will get harder and harder to do and you’ll be less likely to do a good job.
Recycle unwanted packaging
Lots of gifts come in boxes or packaging that takes up space. Take everything out of its packaging and recycle it, then you’ll have more space to store your new things.
Label storage boxes
Dedicating certain areas, space, and storage boxes to certain items in your house can save a lot of confusion next year. You can label boxes for Christmas decorations, as well as use this method for other things in your house to make things easier to find.
Make a list for next year
Write a list of things you definitely know you need to remember for next year. It may be as simple as remembering a certain way to put up your Christmas decorations, but it will save you trying to figure things out again next Christmas.
