As the big day quickly approaches, it’s important that we take into consideration that the holidays can become overwhelming for some and it’s easy to forget to care for ourselves and others this festive season. We’ve put together some ways to make sure you enjoy Christmas time, but also keep on top of your self-care.
1. Write Christmas cards to your loved ones
While it might not sound like it’s the most fun thing to do, writing Christmas cards to your most loved ones can remind you how many people you have around you that love you and are thankful for you. It’s also a good way to show others how much you love them too.
2. Give yourself some down time
There tends to be lots of things going on over Christmas time so to make sure it’s not too full on, put some time in your Christmas schedule to sit wrapped up in a blanket and watch a movie in front of all your Christmas decorations.
3. Reflect on the past year
It’s tradition to write New Year’s resolutions but that can often feel overwhelming too, so reflecting on the past year and writing down your favourite moments and what you’re grateful for can really be a positive exercise.
4. Go back to your childhood
Christmas can sometimes lose its magic as you get older so think of those fun traditions you might have done as a kid, like making cookies or visiting Christmas lights, and let your childish side out.
