If you’re a bird lover, you probably know all about the birds that frequent your garden while you watch from the comfort of your Norfolk Leisure LIFE garden furniture.
If you fancy a short break away, there are also lots of great places in the UK to visit that are rich with birdlife. The following are five top bird-watching locations.
The Lake
If you want a truly immersive experience that plants you right in the middle of birdlife, then The Lake in Cornwall is a bird lover’s glamping paradise. You can expect to see falcons, sand martins and Canada geese, as well as a spectacular star display at night.
Rathlin Island
Situated off the coast of County Antrim in Northern Island, this gem is home to thousands of puffins between April and August. During the summer, you can also catch a glimpse of corncrakes, guillemots and the rare red-billed chough.
Spurn Point
Spurn Point is Yorkshire’s version of Land’s End, which features a narrow tidal island at the mouth of the River Humber. You can see seabirds here during the spring and summer, such as oystercatchers, whimbrels, and avocets.
North Uist
North Uist in Scotland is home to the white-tailed eagle, the largest bird in Britain, as well as the smallest, the goldcrest. You may also spot cuckoos in May.
Somerset Levels
Herons and kingfishers are attracted to the Somerset Levels, and you can even go on expeditions here to see more of the location’s birds, such as cranes, water rails and Cetti’s warblers.
Take a trip to one of these locations this summer and take in all the beautiful birdlife.
