4 things to plant in February

Spring is on the horizon, so most gardeners are looking to get started on preparing their garden for when it is time to enjoy the sunshine on their Supremo bari garden furniture. There are many things to do to prepare for spring, and many plants to pot to brighten up even the smallest of gardens or outside areas.

1. Petunia

Hopefully we have left most of the frosty weather behind, so petunias are great to start planting now and should last through until autumn time. Planting these in February will also allow them to get used to the changing weather and slowly acclimate to the heat in summer.

2. Geraniums

Geraniums are great for balconies or patios as they look beautiful in containers, making a great impact on your garden space. Planting these in February means they will be in full bloom during the summer.

3. Viola hiemalis

This is a variety of pansy that love to bloom during colder climates, making February a great time to plant them. They will grow beautifully in large pots or hanging baskets, but benefit from soil mix that drains well and a container that prevents them from being too wet.

4. Hellebores

These evergreen plants come in a rainbow of different colours, and will flower during the winter and the spring. Deep pots are best for these plants as their roots are deep and fast growing. This also eliminates repotting as they tend to thrive even better in the same pot.
