It would not be a proper Christmas without a tree – but there are lots of different opinions about when it should be put up! This blog will take a look at the various options for when to take your artificial Christmas tree out of the cupboard.
The traditional time
If you are a believer in following old fashioned festive traditions, the correct time to put the tree up is the opening day of advent. This lands on a different day each year, but the date is always four Sundays ahead of Christmas day.
The early bird approach
There are some people out there who favour putting up their Christmas trees during November. This could be because they like to get the festive season organised early – meaning everything from the Christmas decorations to the presents. For others, it’s just about a love of all things Christmas and a desire to make the season last as long as possible.
Artificial or real?
The type of tree you pick will play a part in determining when it goes up. If you buy a real tree, you will be restricted in terms of when it can be put up. They tend to last for roughly three weeks before the pine needles start to fall off. Those who buy artificial Christmas trees can put them up as early as they wish – which is one of the reasons why they are more popular now.
There are no strict rules on the subject, so choose the time that is right for you!
