Three impractical colours for your garden furniture

When it comes to designing your garden and choosing the perfect furniture, one of the most important things to consider is colour. Similar to when you’re doing your interior designing, you want to consider whether the colour of your garden furniture matches other areas of your garden or the plants that you’ve chosen. The following are three colours that may be impractical for your garden furniture.

1. White

As nice as white garden furniture looks when it’s new, it also shows dirt, dust and any other grime from the elements a lot more than darker colours. Unfortunately, this means it may look unclean more often than not.

2. Black

Darker colours such as blacks and browns tend to fade into the background of your garden design, especially if you’ve got similar shades around your garden. This doesn’t allow you to show off your furniture much and can make the area feel a little dingy.

3. Bright colours

Bright coloured garden furniture looks nice with similar plants and flowers, but will fade quicker in the sun and may end up looking old and worn.

So what colour should you choose?

You might be thinking that you haven’t got much choice when deciding on a colour for your Lifestyle garden furniture. White might be too much of a dirt magnet, black too dark and bright colours less durable, but perhaps grey or beige are more suitable choices for outdoor garden furniture. These lighter colours won’t show up the dirt as much as white, will help reflect the heat, and can bring a bright, modern look to your garden.
