Snow Christmas trees: flocked or frosted?

If you want to revamp your Christmas decorations this year, why not consider a snow Christmas tree? This will enable you to capture the ‘winter wonderland’ look, whatever the weather is like over the festive season. You have two choices when it comes to snow Christmas trees though: flocked or frosted.

What is a flocked tree?

A flocked Christmas tree is one that has a thick coating of artificial snow added to it. This makes it look as if the tree has been outside during heavy snowfall. Flocked trees should have minimal additional decoration, because the snow is the main attraction. One piece of decoration that will work well is glass baubles, as they will create a sparkling effect.

How long will it last?

This depends on whether you choose real or artificial. The former will last for around a month, while the latter can be useable for years.

What is a frosted tree?

A frosted tree is one that has a light dusting of artificial snow. This is mostly on the tips of the branches and is meant to look like snow that has just fallen. Choose a frosted tree if you want a more subtle snow effect. In terms of decorations, glass baubles will again be a good complement.

How long will it last?

The situation here is the same as it is with flocked trees. An artificial frosted tree will last you for years, while a real one will be good for a few weeks.

Either of these tree types will make for a great festive choice this Christmas.
