1. Pretty pillows

2. Lanterns and candles
As the light fades, a flickering candle safely enclosed in a lantern provides a gentle and calming ambience while offering some light to chat by. If you’re worried about naked flames, you can also go for faux candles which give the same effect.
3. Cosy throws
You start off your late afternoon dinner party in blazing sunshine and short sleeves but as soon as the sun dips down, it gets chilly. You don’t want your guests rushing home just as the conversation gets going so have some throws handy. They add an extra splash of colour when not needed, but can be wrapped around cold shoulders when the heat disappears too.
4. Outdoor lighting
While candles and lanterns are magical, sometimes a little more light is needed. If you have an overhead covering, you can string fairy lights above the table. If you don’t, you can still dig out the Christmas lights and drape them around the fences or foliage behind your furniture.
