Enjoy months of colour with layered bulb containers. Follow our step by step guide to create a vibrant spring display:
Choose a wide, deep container
Ensure drainage is good by adding broken pots or gravel to the bottom
Add a layer of multi-purpose compost
Plant the latest flowering bulbs first – try Tulip Red Riding Hood for a vibrant colour
Add another small amount of multi-purpose compost to cover the bulbs
Continue layering your bulbs by their required depth, moving to the earliest flowering in the top layer
Cover your last layer of bulbs and then plant some winter pansies on top for colour
Water well and place somewhere sheltered from hard frost
