Taking care of your garden is key to helping it thrive, especially if you intend to have visitors using your rattan garden furniture this summer. However, not all of us have ample time to look after our gardens so are in need of a few helpful ways to quickly keep on top of it. The following are a few easy hacks to keep plants alive and save money.
1. Sprinkle cinnamon on your soil
Cinnamon is great for keeping away pests like ants, so sprinkling a little on your soil near the roots will keep them at bay. Cinnamon also has beneficial properties that help those roots grow.
2. Use a sponge as a water reserve
Placing a sponge in the bottom of a plant pot keeps the plant’s soil moist for longer as it will slowly seep into the soil. This way, your plants will have water to access for longer.
3. Use Sellotape on leaves
Sellotape is a quick way to get rid of spiders or other bugs off plant leaves. You just need to wrap some around your hand and tap gently on the leaves to remove them.
4. Make a cuppa for your plants
Chamomile tea is great for helping plant growth and helping to keep diseases at bay. Just spray a little over the top of them to get the effect and watch your plants bloom.
5. Plant an egg
When you dig a hole for your plant, pop an egg in there to enhance the soil and help the seed grow.
