It might not be as sunny as we expect just yet, but the weather is definitely warming up and it will soon be time to spread your rattan garden furniture around the BBQ and invite your family and friends round to enjoy the sun. However, with the cost of living crisis, we are all more conscious of any extra costs we can avoid this year, so the following are a few tips to remember this BBQ season.
1. Don’t leave your BBQ unattended
Being the host means you’re also probably the cook, and it can often get quite busy trying to cater for everyone’s needs. However, don’t leave your BBQ unattended, as not only will you spoil your food, it’s also a hazard. The last thing you want is to spend money you don’t have on new furniture if the BBQ fire gets out of control.
2. Store your BBQ properly
It’s natural to think that your BBQ lives outside and therefore you should just leave it there. Of course, while it’s still cooling, leave it outside in the open, but make sure you store it safely in a locked shed so that it’s safe from the elements and is not a temptation to thieves.
3. Be considerate
There aren’t many rules for hosting a BBQ itself, but make sure your neighbours are aware of your plans to have a BBQ and the BBQ smoke doesn’t cause pollution or a hazard to people’s health.
