A new study conducted by Warburtons that polled 2,000 adults has revealed the ingredients for the perfect BBQ. This specific set-up for a BBQ has been revealed just in time for people to put it into practice during the summer heat.
According to the study, the perfect place for a BBQ is in a ‘picturesque’ garden, so for those who have a neat lawn and plenty of beautiful plants featured in their gardens, showing these off at a BBQ is the perfect time.
The study showed most people prefer to start their BBQs early afternoon around 2pm, with the BBQ then expected to last for four hours. It was agreed that the number of guests for an enjoyable and more manageable BBQ is eight people. For gardens that feature plenty of rattan garden furniture, this shouldn’t be an issue.
The food is potentially one of, if not the most, important aspect of a BBQ, and most people agreed that burgers, steaks, hot dogs and drumsticks are all must-have BBQ foods.
In terms of doughy additions, the white bap is the favourite, with brioche buns coming in second. Condiments were also polled, and ketchup won the vote as the best on that one, followed by joint favourites BBQ sauce and mayonnaise.
Maybe unsurprisingly, more men voted that they would prefer to be the host of the BBQ than women. However, 25% of men owned up to burning the food when doing so!
