Prelit Artificial Trees

Pre-lit Christmas trees

Christmas trees that come with the lights already added are becoming a popular choice these days. This is because they are able to offer atmospheric, twinkling effects, while the absence of visible wires makes them less busy-looking and more visually appealing.

Most artificial pre-lit Christmas trees come with warm white bulbs that help to create a cosy glow – especially when other lights are turned off.

The differences between pre-lit and fibre optic trees

People sometimes confuse pre-lit Christmas trees with fibre optic ones. In fact, they are two different things, although there are some similarities.

The main factor they have in common is that both are types of artificial tree with lights built into them. How that is done is not the same in each case though.

Fibre optic trees have the lights fitted inside the branches. They use multi-coloured lights that change and produce a shimmering effect.

Pre-lit trees have strings of lights that are attached to the tree branches, replicating the look of a standard lit-up Christmas tree. The light strings are less obvious than with a standard tree, and they come with either white or multi-coloured bulbs.

Why choose a pre-lit tree?

Pre-lit Christmas trees come with several advantages that have contributed to their popularity.

The first is that they are more traditional in appearance than fibre optic trees, but without the problems of tangled wires and broken bulbs that can come with hanging your own fairy lights.

A second advantage is that they are easy to set up, while a third is that the LED lighting is very energy efficient.

What is a pre-lit Christmas tree?

A pre-lit Christmas tree is one where the lights are built into the branches during the manufacturing process.

It is among the most popular types of artificial Christmas trees, because it offers an elegantly illuminated appearance.

Something you may notice with pre-lit Christmas trees is how even and balanced the lights are. This can be difficult to replicate when you have to wrap a string of lights around a tree by hand. This, plus the absence of visible wires, gives pre-lit trees their beautiful streamlined look. The lights seem to glow as if by magic.

How long do pre-lit Christmas trees last?

The standard lifespan for the pre-lit Christmas trees we offer is between eight and 10 years. However, if you take particularly good care of your tree, it can serve you well for even longer.

All of our various pre-lit trees feature LED lights, which are durable and long-lasting. While Christmas trees of this kind have a broadly similar lifespan, how long your tree lasts will partly be down to how you treat it. Proper maintenance and storage will ensure a longer life.

What are the benefits of pre-lit artificial Christmas trees?

There are several benefits to choosing a pre-lit tree:

Convenience

Because the lights are attached and connected via the trunk, all you have to do is plug the tree in and switch it on. You can avoid the frustration of tangled string lights and broken bulbs.

Energy efficiency

The LEDs used for pre-lit trees are the most energy-efficient form of illumination. This ensures the tree will not cause an increase in your electricity bills.

Stylish appearance

The even distribution of lights and invisible wires make for a stylish and tidy look. They also leave more room on the tree for baubles and other types of Christmas decorations.

Variable lighting

Some brands of pre-lit tree let you vary the style of lighting. You can opt for a steady glow or twinkling lights. They also range from mono-coloured to multicoloured lights.
