If you want to decorate your home a bit differently this Christmas, one option you might consider is a twig tree. These feature twigs that are put together in the shape of a tree – and you can get both real and artificial ones. They are a bit more challenging to dress though, so follow these tips.
Dress it with lights
The first element to consider is the lights – and this really boils down to whether the tree is real or artificial. Most artificial twig trees come with the lights built into them, whereas real ones will need the addition of some string lights. Sticking with lights of a single colour will help you to create a consistent colour scheme.
Add baubles
Building the whole thing around one colour – two at the absolute most – will lead to the best results. The colour that you choose should depend on the tree. If it is a real one with a rustic look, pick natural looking decorations to go on it. This means items like berries, holly and pinecones.
If it is an artificial one in a shade such as silver, choose baubles that are in a similarly cool hue. This could be white or a tone that adds a splash of colour – for example, blue.
When it comes to hanging your baubles, try to vary the depths. Put some of them deeper back and others at the branch tips. Then, finish off with a fairy or star on top.
Decorating a twig tree can be fun and creative if you follow these simple tips.
