Roses are a beautiful flower to have in your garden, as they’re bright and beautiful. There are also many types of rose, so you can pick the best type to suit your garden aesthetic, whether you have Outback reclining chairs or different types of rattan furniture.
However, these flowers need care and attention in order to flourish. Here are three ways to make sure your roses are taken care of.
Support
A lot of plants need support, and roses are no different. Depending on what type of roses you have in your garden, for some, you can simply tie the stem to a cane or a pole so that they grow securely and towards the sun.
Feed
It’s simple but important: roses need food and water, just like us. You can mulch them in spring and autumn with manure or compost, making sure you keep the mulch away from the stem.
Watering them regularly also prevents mildew if you aim for the base of the plant, towards its roots. This is especially important immediately after planting and in particularly dry times of the season.
Deadhead
Deadheading regularly is important to make room for your roses to continue to flourish. If you’ve got a healthy stem, the flower head just needs popping off.
Weaker stems will need cutting right back to help them grow again. It is also important to look out for dead or damaged stems.
By following these tips, you should be able to enjoy the beautiful sight and smell of roses in your garden.
