The humble Christmas tree is an essential part of the festive season for most of us. That does not mean that there is no room to experiment with it though. Try some of these quirky ideas this year to put a fresh spin on your festive tree.
Barbie pink tree
Okay, so 2023 was the peak year of ‘Barbiemania’, but everything connected with it remains very fashionable. So, why not try a pink Barbie-inspired Christmas tree?
You can decorate the blushing branches with baubles in silver and gold to create a look that is old-fashioned glamour straight out of the Dreamhouse.
Turn it upside down
There are few things more quirky than having your tree hanging from a ceiling, but doing so is actually a lost tradition. The upside-down tree originated during the 8th century, when it was intended to evoke the Holy Trinity. Of course, there is the risk of branches and pine needles falling everywhere, but artificial Christmas trees will enable you to avoid that.
A flower tree
If you are in the mood for a romantic Yuletide season, covering your tree in fresh flowers will help to create the desired feel. You can easily attach them to your tree by putting water holders made from plastic onto the stems.
An alternative is to use dried flowers, as the point is to create colourful Christmas decorations from natural items. Hydrangea and amaryllis are two flowers with shades that will complement each other.
