Christmas is a fun time for children, but there are always things that you can do to make it even more enjoyable. Preparing some delicious snacks with a festive flavour is one idea – and you could even get the kids to help you with it!
Chocolate pretzel reindeer
Reindeer are as festive as Christmas decorations, so this recipe will be the ideal snack for children over the holiday.
Just buy pretzel sticks, melt some chocolate and then coat the sticks in it. You can create reindeer eyes using cubes of sugar with black icing pupils. Add a red M&M or sprinkles for the nose and split another pretzel in two for antlers.
Melting snowman cookies
Children love snowmen, and they also love cookies – so you can’t go wrong with these. You can bake the cookies yourselves or buy them from the shops.
Make white icing before spreading some on each cookie. Then, take marshmallows and place one on every cookie, away from the centre. These will be the heads of the snowmen, so use red and black icing pens to draw faces on them. Draw the arms on the white icing, so it looks like a melted body.
Father Christmas pancakes
These will be great for kids to wake up to on Christmas morning. All you have to do is put eyes on each pancake with yoghurt and chocolate chips, before adding Santa’s beard using cream. His red and white hat can be made out of strawberries and more cream.
Any of these snacks will delight children – and parents!
