Three good outdoor Christmas decorations to choose

There are those among us who are not content to simply decorate the inside of their homes at Christmas – they want the outside to look like Santa’s Grotto too. If you are one of those people, here are some outdoor decoration ideas and tips.

Outdoor lights

It cannot be disputed that lights make a big impact, but you must be sure to hang specialist outdoor Christmas lights. Anything else will be a fire hazard. Also, be sure to choose lights that are a minimum IP44 rated, as they will be weatherproof. When it comes to the type you should choose, icicle lights will look great hanging from your guttering.

Festive wreath

Another excellent choice for outdoor Christmas decorations is a festive wreath. You can either buy a real or an artificial one, but the latter will last for longer. You should also make sure that you get fixings for it that are resistant to the wind, rain and ice. An ideal place for putting up a wreath of this kind is on your front door.

Christmas pot plants

Why not get yourself a couple of small-sized evergreen trees and put one on each side of your door. You can then decorate them with the usual Christmas tree options like baubles and lights. If you want to add the second of those though, you will need to have a power source nearby and use outdoor fairy lights rather than standard ones, for safety reasons.

These are just a few of the outdoor Christmas decoration ideas that you can consider.
