The best plants for beginner gardeners

Gardening has been proven to have great effects on your physical and mental health. Even spending an hour or so enjoying your outside area during the afternoon can give you a boost of vitamin D you didn’t know you needed. If you’ve got a new Supremo Palermo patio set to try out but aren’t sure where to start with making your garden something to be proud of, then the following tips might help.

Start with herbs

It might be tempting to get the biggest and brightest flowers for your garden, but if you’re particularly new to gardening then this might not be the best idea as it can be quite disheartening if they don’t bloom for long. Flowers require a lot of effort, so you might want to consider planting herbs. They smell nice, but they’re also easy to pot and don’t require a whole lot of care as they enjoy dry environments. Starting with crop growing often gets people into gardening because it shows how easy it is to grow your own quality greens.

Be wild

Traditionally, the picture-perfect lawn and garden is something most people strive for. However, wilder gardens with natural plants and lots of different things growing are really eco-friendly because they provide a natural habitat for insects and wildlife, all contributing to the environment.

If you do have certain plants or crops, make it as much of a habit to water and take care of these as much as possible. That way, you’ll be able to keep on top of your garden easier.
