Sowing seeds now will remind you the spring is just round the corner and will help you to fill your garden with flowers and food.
Warm windowsills are a great place to start off veg and flower seeds at this time of year. Choose a bright place away from direct sun and preferably over a radiator. Fill pots or seed trays with good quality seed or multi purpose compost, sprinkle a thin layer of seed onto the surface and barely cover with sieved compost. Water carefully and stand in a drip tray. When the seedlings are just big enough to handle, transplant them into individual cells or small pots. They can then be moved to a light, frost-free place to carry on growing ready to planted out according to the details on the packet.
