How to make your own Christmas candles

While you can easily buy festive candles in the shops, there is something particularly satisfying about making your own Christmas decorations. Keep reading to learn how to create your very own DIY Christmas candles.

The first step you will need to take is to find some sticks or twigs. If you have a garden, this will be simple – but you can also get them from the nearest public park. It will make for a fun family activity over the weekend.

Once you have them, take a heat-proof glass and glue the sticks around its outside to create the main shape of your candle.

You will then need to give the sticks some time to make sure that the glue is completely dry, before moving on to the next stage. This is where it starts to be more fun – because you will be ready to begin decorating your candles. One option for that is to cut out something festive like a tree or a star, and then stick it to the front of the candle.

Another possibility is to put different coloured twine or ribbon around each of the candles. This can be tied into a fancy bow to create a more decorative appearance for them. If you use glasses of varying sizes, you can put together a candlelight display. Then, once you are happy, it is time to light the candles using tea lights.

Making your own candles is a great way to add some quirky DIY Christmas lights to your home for the festivities.
