Christmas will soon be upon us, and before you know it, it’ll be time to dig out the Christmas decorations, and dust off those artificial Christmas trees. While every household certainly has their own traditions, perhaps you’ve been wondering if your annual Yuletide festivities could do with a bit of fresh sparkle!
Pick a new theme
If you’ve stuck faithfully to the same artificial tree over the years, it may be time to freshen up your Christmas centrepiece by picking a new theme annually, and selecting different colour schemes and decorations to match. Some people opt for ribbons, flowers or bows to be their theme, and decorate their artificial trees accordingly. You could also get the family involved, and take it in turns each year to select a theme.
Put up more than one tree
The main Christmas tree tradition amongst families is to have only one tree, decorating it and stacking presents at its base. A new tradition may include having additional trees in your home this coming festive period. These could include adding smaller, pop-up Christmas trees, or miniature trees as table centrepieces, to add a little extra festivity this winter.
Take inspiration from other countries
This year, you may wish to take inspiration from other countries, and adopt some Christmas traditions from across the pond. A fun decoration from the US is to adorn your Christmas tree with popcorn on a string, rather than our more traditional (and less tasty) tinsel.
These are just some ideas that you could use to bring a little extra magic into your home this season.
