Garden furniture comes in different styles and materials, from rattan furniture to the metal frames of Outback reclining chairs. Most of these are weather resistant, so will not need much protection and can often be left outside all year round.
However, it is still important to know how to clean your furniture. Luckily, you can find everything you need inside your house.
Washing-up liquid
It’s really easy and simple to keep materials like rattan clean. Instead of using harsh chemicals or cleaners, pop some washing-up liquid in warm water and use a soft cloth to wipe the furniture down. This will keep it fresh and clean.
Toothbrush
A toothbrush can be used to get in smaller cracks, such as the weave of rattan, if there’s any dirt trapped.
White vinegar
A lot of garden furniture is made of steel, and even though it can be left outside, it will still start to rust after a while, especially after lots of rain and hot weather. Luckily, white vinegar is great for getting rid of rust without harming your furniture. Pour it on your furniture and leave for around an hour, and then simply wipe it off with a soft cloth once it’s settled.
Olive oil
A great choice for sprucing up wooden furniture prone to wear and tear is olive oil. This can add some shine and reduce cracks.
By keeping your garden furniture clean, you’ll help it to last as long as possible and keep up the appearance of your garden.
