Preparing the tree
Before you can give your tree a good clean, you will have to switch off and unplug any string lights you have put on it. You will also need to take all of the baubles and other decorations off.
Picking the spot
Once your artificial tree is free of decorations, move it to somewhere with plenty of open space. This can be indoors or outdoors, as long as it gives you enough room. Put a sheet on the ground where you will be doing the cleaning. This will ensure you do not have to clean the floor afterwards.
A light clean
Light cleaning can be done with a soft brush or micro-fibre cloth. Gently sweep away any debris or dirt that is on the tree branches. If you are having trouble getting to the inner parts, try a handheld vacuum cleaner.
A deeper clean
If more serious cleaning is required, put some mild soap into warm water. Then, use a damp cloth to softly wash the branches. Let the tree dry naturally in the air before you put it away for the year.
