Fun ways to exchange gifts this Christmas

Shopping for gifts at Christmas can sometimes feel like a chore, and the excitement that should be there for exchanging and opening them can also sometimes be lacking. However, who said you should exchange gifts in the normal, traditional way? The following are some great ideas to make gift giving more fun.

Friends and family gift exchanges

If you have a large family or a lot of friends to buy for and you find that most people never know what they want, it can be fun to start a hot potato gift. The idea is to wrap up the most outrageous or weird gift from the year before and give it to a family member, who then does the same next year. It can be a laugh to see who the unsuspecting person is each year.

Work colleagues gift exchanges

To eliminate bias and any office tiffs, a great idea is to get everyone to buy a random gift and add it to a pile. Then the trivia begins, and whoever answers the questions first gets the first pick of the gift pile until all presents are gone. Mix it up by allowing the boss to swap or keep their own gift!

Children gift exchanges

If you’ve got kids, grandkids, nieces, or nephews, a great game is to hide presents around the house and get them to go and find them, much like an Easter Egg hunt. These only have to be little gifts as you can still put all the main presents under your artificial Christmas trees.
