Four places to decorate with Christmas baubles

Traditionally, the home of the Christmas bauble is on the tree, and other Christmas decorations adorn the rest of the house. However, there is no reason why you can’t get creative with them – here are some ideas for you to try out:

Hang from lightshades

Baubles are designed to be hung, so you could drape them from lightshades or light fixtures, where they can catch the light and shine. You could also attach ribbon of varying lengths, and have a raining down effect if you have the ceiling height.

Napkin holders

Add a charming touch to your dining table by looping a bauble around your folded napkins. You could opt for matching designs or pick a different colour for each guest. Children will enjoy a character or object bauble, like a miniature Father Christmas or a snowman.

Fill a vase

If you have a large glass vase or jar, fill it with a few baubles to create a beautiful centrepiece or coffee table decoration. You could also add some battery-operated fairy lights to add some extra sparkle.

Door handles

Draping baubles over door handles is a perfect way to add dots of colour around a room. Lightweight or paper baubles are ideal, so they don’t smash with door use.

Of course, by nature, baubles are made for the tree. You could get some tiny baubles and decorate a miniature tree or small piece of foliage on a shelf, in the hallway or on a mantlepiece. Wherever you place them, baubles are sure to add that festive feel to your home.
