One of the many benefits of artificial Christmas trees is that they are easier to maintain. Because they can be used year after year, you will need to know how to store them properly though. This guide will cover the main points.
Clear the tree first
Before you begin to take the tree apart, make sure all decorations have been removed from the branches. It can be easy to miss smaller ones if you are in a hurry. This can mean both baubles and fairy lights.
Press the branches down
The branches of the tree should be pressed down before it is wrapped up. This will make it a lot easier to fit your tree into whatever box or bag you are storing it in.
They can always be secured in place using string or a zip tie. Pressing down the branches will also make it less likely they will get damaged during the year.
Take the tree apart
At this stage, you can take the pieces apart. Most artificial Christmas trees come with a detachable base. When it comes to putting the different sections in the bag or box, put the main pole in first, followed by the base and other parts. Make sure the container is properly sealed, so dirt and insects cannot get in.
Pick a dry and cool place for storage
Artificial trees are resilient, but dry and cool spots are still better for storage. Moisture can lead to some damage.
Follow these steps to keep your tree in tip-top condition throughout the year.
