Christmas Eve is an exciting day, but it is often not as appreciated as the big day itself. However, if you only have a few days off to spend with family at Christmas, it’s worth making the most of Christmas Eve as well as it can be just as special as Christmas Day itself.
1. Make a Christmas Eve to-do list
To-do lists sound boring, but a Christmas Eve one can be about making time to do things together, such as putting up some special Christmas decorations, baking or preparing sweet treats for the next day or curling up to watch a Christmas movie. If you have kids, it’s a great way to help them get ready for Santa’s arrival.
2. Start a new tradition
Christmas is full of traditions, and there’s probably a lot of them you’ve adopted without knowing it, but who said you can’t make your own? Some ideas are allowing each other to open one gift before bed on Christmas Eve, buy a new set of pyjamas to go to bed in (these can be matching!), or hang up a special ornament to mark the day.
3. Make your home extra Christmassy
By Christmas Eve, the majority of Christmas decorations have been put up and the tree is ready for Christmas Day. However, you can make Christmas Eve in your household a few simple ways such as putting up Christmas Eve stockings, cooking special treats to fill the house with mouth-watering aromas, or light a Christmas candle and enjoy its cosiness.
