We stock a large selection of seed potatoes that can be divided into four categories: First earlies, second earlies, early maincrops and late maincrops.
Early potatoes tend to have a waxy texture, hold their shape well when boiled and they are ideal for salads. Maincrop potatoes tend to be better for roasting as they usually have larger tubers and have a more floury texture.
First earlies are planted in March and best after the danger of frost has passed. They are normally ready from June through to July, second earlies are ready from July to August, early maincrops are ready from August onwards and late maincrops will be ready from September.
If you have limited space available choose an early variety as they take up less space.
